Dark Plum in colour, the mousse has a brown tinge indicative of its age in bottle.
The aroma is rich with cherries and plums. A whiff of fresh leather escapes as you swirl it in the glass.
This wine has a bit of everything you can expect in sparkling shiraz. Some cherry and stewed plums up front. A mix of fruit cake and savoury notes in the mid palate. Smoky tannins and leathery mouthfeel characters towards the end which balance the wine. After a gentle fruity hit these flavours subside and soft oak and yeasty characters linger towards the finish. The overall impression is neither sweet nor dry, but satisfying, refreshing and more’ish.
Well suited to sipping alone, this will also match a variety of foods, from BBQ to Black Forest cake.
SERVING TEMPERATURE These sparkling wines are made to be served cold – less than 4 C. Store for 24 hours in a domestic fridge prior to opening or leave in wet ice for 2-3 hours.
