Deep inky red in colour, the mousse has a slight brick brown tinge which hints at the age of the wine.
The aroma is rich and earthy. There are raisin and dried fruit notes which are reminiscent of a tawny port.
A museum release of our 2005 Chambourcin.
The long bottle ageing has given the wine structure and depth.
The mid palate is a blend of berries, muscat and some port like developed characters. A combination of fresh and aged together.
The aftertaste is smooth and soft with hints of dark chocolate and plum pudding.
The wine is flavoursome and rich but surprisingly fresh.
Enjoy it with meat dishes, but would also be suitable to accompany an end of meal cheese platter.
